The Division of Family and Community Services has a temporary, part-time (26 hours/week), benefits-eligible opportunity for a Financial Technician on our Child Welfare Funding Team. This position will perform a variety of para-professional financial duties including developing and maintaining records, documents, reports and financial data; reviewing financial documents and records; and performing related work. 
GENERAL INFORMATION
This position is based out of the department's administrative offices in beautiful downtown Boise.
This is a part-time (26 hours/week) , temporary position that is expected to last at least a year. The candidate appointed to this position will be eligible for benefits.
This position will have the flexibility to work in the office, telecommute, or a hybrid of both.

Example of Duties
Analyze, research, and reconcile complex financial documents.
Review, complete and process financial documents to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies for approval.
Obtain knowledge of the organization's programs and financial requirements to prepare, reconcile, and balance financial transactions.
Requires strong skills using computer systems to develop and maintain records, documents, and financial data.
Accurately code transactions into a variety of systems.
Minimum Qualifications

Good knowledge of financial record keeping methods.
Experience researching and compiling financial information and preparing summaries and reports.
Experience using personal computers to enter, retrieve, and edit financial data.

Below are additional qualifications.  They are not required, however, having the minimum qualifications and the education and/or experience below will increase your score.  
Experience with the State of Idaho STARS system.  Requires experience working in an Idaho State financial accounting or self-reliance position.
Experience independently applying policies, procedures or regulations to determine if financial transactions are in compliance. Requires coursework completed in accounting or work experience of one year.
Experience using Microsoft Office suite, including MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word.  Requires coursework completed or one-year work experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION These positions require good knowledge of financial record keeping methods. Experience must be full-time, paid work where primary duties involved accounting/bookkeeping that included reconciling, balancing and proofing financial data. (Note: Paying bills, collecting money, purchasing items or maintaining a rotary fund is not qualifying at this level.) Select the response that best describes your education and experience.
A. I have completed two college accounting courses and have at least one year of experience OR I have completed one college accounting course and have two years of experience.
B. I have NOT completed any college accounting courses BUT I have at least three years of experience.
C. I have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting OR a Bachelor's degree in Business with at least 20 semester credits in accounting, BUT do not have one year of work experience.
D. I have completed two college accounting courses and have at least two years of experience.
E. I have NOT completed any college accounting courses BUT I have at least four years of experience.
F. I have the appropriate Bachelor's degree described above and at least one year of experience OR I have a two-year vo-tech degree in accounting and at least two years of experience.
G. I have NOT completed any college accounting courses BUT I have at least five years of experience.
H. I do not have any of the experience and/or education as described in the options above.
