This is a permanent full-time position (35 hours per week) located in Scarborough.
The PACW program involves supporting children and parents aged 6-12 years referred by Child Welfare due to incidents of physical discipline, highly conflictual interactions, and/or risk of family breakdown.  Flexibility in hours of work is essential to this role to address barriers to service; evening work is required. Work is frequently performed in a broad variety of locations including family homes, foster home, office, and community settings.
About Us 
Strides Toronto is a new multi-service agency providing services to young people from birth to age 29 and their families in East Toronto. Formed in January 2020 through the amalgamation of Aisling Discoveries and East Metro Youth Services, Strides Toronto provides a range of community, residential and treatment services to improve the mental, social, and physical health of infants, children, youth and their families. We provide individual, group and family interventions that include mental health counselling, autism services, education, outreach and referral, early intervention, day treatment and community support. 
As Lead Agency for infant, child and youth mental health in Toronto, Strides Toronto works with 25 core service providers to design and implement system-level improvements that transform access to services, experience of services and the mental health outcomes for Toronto’s diverse communities.  
Strides Toronto has a budget of $30 million and more than 350 employees providing services out of 19 locations across East Toronto. The organization Is accredited by the Centre for Accreditation and the predecessor organizations have a long history of providing high-quality services in East Toronto.

 What will you do? 
Conduct family and individual assessments; 
Engage with families in respectful, invitational ways that adapt services to the family’s needs and elicit client participation and feedback throughout the continuum of service including through the development of goals and treatment plans;
Provide family and individual counselling utilizing evidence-based, and evidence informed interventions within a context of flexible, family-centered service delivery;
Function as service coordinator to ensure the development and implementation of treatment plans and to ensure that service, including intake/assessment, transition and discharge planning is delivered in a coordinated and timely fashion;
Develop and provide group work service utilizing evidence-based interventions, as required;
Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff and involve consultation as appropriate to support assessment, treatment planning, and implementation;
Participate in and contribute as a team member to the ongoing review and development of clinical services;
Coordinate and plan client-centered services, attend and facilitate internal and external case conferences; advocate on behalf of clients with other service providers;
 What are we looking for? 
Master's level degree in Social Sciences/Social Work or Psychology;
1-2 years of demonstrated relevant experience;
Valid Ontario driver’s licence with access to the regular use of a vehicle;
A registered member in good standing with the OCSWSSW or CRPO;
Sound knowledge of theoretical models and evidence-based clinical interventions in working with children and families with mental health needs;
Strong clinical skills in assessment, formulation, and treatment with an ability to utilize flexible strategies for engaging and working with families, individuals, groups and larger systems.
Strong knowledge of family therapy, systems theory, group work theory, child development, and dynamics of family violence and sexual/physical abuse.
An understanding of the Child, Youth and Family Services Act.
Knowledge of the community served by the Agency; demonstrated understanding of access and equity issues; awareness and sensitivity to diversity in the workplace and within the community.
A full understanding of anti-black racism, anti-oppressive/anti-racism perspective when working with clients and their families with the ability to recognize and identify situations where incidents of power and privilege may occur and can result in possible impact.
Child welfare experience is a strong asset.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to demonstrate flexibility and cope with competing demands.
Strong oral and written communication skills. 
Strong ability to work cooperatively with team members and consultants of all disciplines.
Good time management skills and demonstrate initiative as well as the ability to meet deadlines.
Sound clinical judgement, problem solving, and decision-making skills in combination with sound analytical abilities.
Work is frequently performed in a broad variety of locations including office, school, family homes and community settings. The incumbent is required to work independently as well as within teams and is expected to engage in regular clinical supervision. Self-care and self-reflective practices are important aspects of being able to provide meaningful therapeutic support on an ongoing basis.
The position involves regular local travel.
